IRS Exemption Letter

Brief History

In 1986, Adopt-A-Child-Size began as a service activity with the Wayne County Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA).  The agency was formed and incorporated in January, 1997 with the State of Michigan as a human service, non-profit organization.  In February, 1997, Adopt-A-Child-Size and Support Services, Inc. received tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service.  To date, over 5000 children have received complete winter outfits.


Tax Implications

Adopt-A-Child-Size and Support Services, Inc. has been declared by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization.  That means that grants and contributions to Adopt-A-Child-Size and Support Services, Inc. are tax deductible.

Accordingly, upon written request, we offer the following documents for public inspection:

  • the annual income tax return
  • the exemption application
  • the exemption letter
  • State of Michigan license to solicit
